The results were

17% said Yes
11% said No

And 72% said "I not understanding the question please"

In the park with the kids. They are running about and cosy, I'm sitting
with a smoke and Treo 680 checking out some blogs. Me I'm frozen. Where has
all the sun went that we had during the week.

I can only apoligise for the way links show up on blog now. I have tried
the html thingy and sometimes get error messages when using mail2blog about
parenthesis and commas so gave up. What's annoying is before I changed to
the new design any web address I type in my emails on the Treo showed up as
links but now don't and that was the only change. I don't even fuss for
friendly name links just let the address do the now. If I got to edit a
post it shows as a link but not in the front page.
Any thought to do this just to make http:// palmblogging.blog.co.uk or
whatever show as a link. Is it more <> type things or what?

Got a couple of albums worth of music on this now for Tegan and had a bash
at some video that had been formated for my Palms with Fair Use Wizard. The
music was all wma so worked a treat but the video wouldn't play at all. Its
avi with possibly aac sound element. So I was wondering if anyone knows
what Media Player 10 Mobile handles when ripping dvds for use on a phone?
Any help will be appretiated.

Well I did good to get nominated but never won. The taking part was good

Got a 2 gig card for Tegans phone tonight in Morrisons. Its a micro SD with
the mini and fullsized SD adapters and it was a shade under a fiver. I've
looked for a while in shops for one and was going to go on the web this
weekend but I don't think I'd get it any cheaper.
Now to get music and video on it for her and see how that goes.

Yes I'll be over at the Bloscars checking out the winners as soon as they
are underway.

I'll have to be sneeky as Debs don't know I'm nominated let alone about

Trying this out just now on the Treo680 and Zire 71. Works on both but a
wee bit slower on the Zire. I will do a wee review and screenshots tonight
on the Zire 71 and post it tomorrow. Looks good but a few wee bits to tweak
for my usage before trying it full-time.

Brits prefer ordinary mobile phone over smartphone

A price comparison website called Moneysupermarket.com did a research and found surprising facts that over a third of Brits would prefer a mobile phone that's just used for calling and texting over a smartphone.
James Parker, manager of mobiles at Moneysupermarket.com, said (via PC World): "This survey just goes to show a large number of people don't want the all singing, all dancing smartphones. For a lot of people, simplicity is key".
Only 18% say they want their phone to sports the latest technology, but 42% of those who are aged under 20 say they'll make purchasing a handset with the latest technology as a priority. This means the younger the age of the users, the more they're hungry for keeping updated with the newest technology around.
Moneysupermarket.com also found out that 34% of LG phone owners have reported at least one issue with their phone in the past 12 months. Next in the line are Sony Ericsson at 33%, and Samsung at 25%. "Mobiles have come along way since the 'battery in a suitcase' days, but it seems more features mean more problems,"added Parker.
The price comparison website then made classification of owners based on the mobile phone brands they own, according to Moneysupermarket.com: Nokia owners are 'handset simpletons', while those who have Samsung mobile phones are 'snap-happy photo geeks', for you who own LG handsets are categorized as 'tech boffin', and for you who purchase Sony Ericsson phones are 'music nerds'.

Apologies to anyone with a very full My Friends Blogs page today. I had a
dose of prepared posts and felt very good today. Its great when things are
going smoothly.

This was a post I found whilst clearing old emails on the Zire 71. Its from
a good while ago and Ive still never got round to getting an old IR phone
with GPRS connectivity.

Yes, yes ,yes I have done it. Last night I manged to send an mail from my
Visor Deluxe. This old, 4 shades of grey screen, Palm OS 3.1 device has
completed my old skool connectivity project.
When I got the Psion Revo going I knew I was on the right track and it
would only be a matter of time before I cracked things.
I was sure I was getting a connection with my home ISPs servers but it just
wouldn't do the mail bit and suspected the Eudora Mail softwares ability.
Today I managed to download an early version of Multimail, the forefather
of Versmail. It was on Tucows as freeware but said about registering, in
the app there is nowhere to register so it must have just been a support
thing.
I entered the ISP info for the required fields and only modified the login
name to my dialup connection's and not my full email address. Incidently I
also did this with Eudora Mail but no change to the result. I thought this
meant that Multimail would fail but no my test email sat for a while then
disappeared from the outbox. The Visor and Nokia stop talking and the
connection stop. I then looked in the sent folder and the test email was
there.
Quickly I went and checked my mail with my Treo 680 and to my joy got the
email my Visor had sent.
My next task is to do the same with the m130. After that buy an old GPRS
capable phone and set Revo, Visor and Zire71 up for that and make the most
of my Orange world bundle.
I still have to get web browsing on the Visor and Revo. If I do that I may
leave the 680 at home one day to see how I get on.

So Ed the head at Palm has finally confirmed that the Centro is the last
device from Palm to have its OS and the future is the Pre and the new all
singing and dancing Web OS. This is a bit of a bummer for me, a bit like
Woolies closing all over again. Something that has become part of your life
disappearing.
I have had Palm OS devices for over 7 years now.I started with a Handspring
Visor, then a Zire 71, on to aTreo 600 and currently a Treo 680. I loved
the simplicity of the OS compared to Pocket PC. The reason to stop Palm OS
of it being not a phone OS doesn't really cut it ith me as I feel my Treo
does what I need from it and pretty well at that. There is hope though with
Dimitry Grinberg and his revamp of Palm's OS that may live on as DGOS.

Firstly most of the folk I have known that get called Dave are pricks.
Funny the reruns of Top Gear with Clarkson are shown on Dave.

Secondly for thos old enough there was that public information film about
learning to swim that the girl goes on how great Dave is but he can't swim
and loses out to " swims like a fish Mike". I might have thought as a Dave
I'd "keep losing my birds". Wasn't the 70s lovely. Hell I had a look on the
web and I was 6 when this was out.

With the channel changes on Freeview recently I decided to rescan all the
boxes in the house last night. I did Tegans even though she had went to bed
to ensure she still got CITV. The boys cause it hadn't been done by them in
a while. The PVR in the living room hoping to get the guide working right
as well.

This left the old ON Digital box in our bedroom. Now since we had 2
perfectably useable Daewoo boxes that were destroyed by the Freeview
Consortiums change to something invovling a change to NIT. I was very wary
about doing a rescan. The Daewoos worked after the change Freeview
implimented until the rescanned then they died totally. So I check a few
posts on the Digital Spy forum and bit the bullet and done it. The old
Pioneer box scanned and is fine. I know its an old piece of tech but it
still does the job and we don't watch that much telly in bed anyway.

Yes thanks to these greedy bastards not passing the vat cut on I know have £2.00 in my "phone fund".

I was of for a wee while and am back this week trying to catch up with all
that's happened.

We are well into sowing summer bedding plant seeds and I still find it
ammazing how it all works. A few dried out looking seeds in a packet, add
compost, water. Sun and a bitty heat and in a few months beautiful flowers.
Great how it does it. Aint Mother Nature got it sussed.

You may have noticed that a lot of the posts recently have just been newsy
items and very little about what has been happening Palm-wise or other-wise
in the Palmblogging household. I also deleted the previous Palmblogging and
started afresh with what's here now.

I feel now I can get more into how my blogging used to be and let you know
a bit of what's been going on.

The blog deletion thing was a wee bit of a crisis in confidence thing. Me
and Debs were close to going our seperate ways as thing were reaching a
bad way in the family and we were both pissing each other of daily, if not
more often. We had a major clear the air talk and things settled down.
During that period I was a bit mixed up about what I wanted and in
preparation for a new start cleared the old blog.

The fact we stayed together has been the right thing as due to a turn of
events that happened afterwards we are stronger than we've been in a good
while.

I had cause to have to take some time off work recently and have just
returned. Hopefully thing regarding these happenings will settle in to a
routine now and be managable with out me being off.

The Palms ghave been getting used a fair bit and came in really handy on a
few occasions.

I have had a few jokes I could have posted here but just haven't felt like
it.

So hopefully I will get back in the waay of my regular blogging ways and
get around commenting as well.

The other night at around 2.30am I was kind of half aware of something
going on in our bedroom. Just as I was having a bit more realisation I feel
a thump on my stomach and groin. The younger cat had jamp from the top of
out bed on to me. Now we aint posh and the bed is Debs pride and joy. Debs
treated herself years ago to a four-poster so Wosit the cat landed on me
from about 6 feet above floor level a drop of about 5 foot straight in to
my bits.

Tegan was at the P1, P2 and P3 Valentines Disco tonight. First some I heard
was I Kissed A Girl and last song was YMCA. Grownups will see the link
there but the kids were just dancing around. Great how accepting they
are. We grownups can learn a lot there.

Been around a few blogs tonight commenting I just found I had a bit of time
that I could do it in so off I went. Thanks to all the commentors here as

Snappermail on the Zire 71 and its popup screen keyboard. I will have to
tryout of other apps to supplement how this works or get better at
Graffiti. Oh for a Revo equivalant with back lit keyboard. Wait that
sounds bit like the Datawind Pocket Surfer that Ideal World was selling
lastweek or could an Asus EEEpc fill that void. Mmmhhhh hav to look at eBay
