The Cause Of Arthritis!

by Palmblogging @ 30.06.2008 - 11:34:01 am

A man who reeked of alcohol flopped on a subway seat next to a priest. The
man's tie was stained, his face was plastered with red lipstick, and a half
empty bottle of rum was sticking out of his ripped jacket pocket. He opened
his newspaper and started reading. After a few minutes, the disheveled guy
turned to the priest and asked "Say, Father, do you know what causes
arthritis?"

The priest, disgusted by the man's appearance and behavior snapped "It's
caused by loose living, being with cheap, wicked women, too much alcohol,
and a contempt for your fellow man!"

"Well, I'll be," the man muttered and returned to his newspaper.

The priest, thinking about what he had said, nudged the man and apologized,
"I'm sorry to have come on so strong - I didn't mean it. How long have you
been suffering from arthritis?"

"I don't have it, Father. I was just reading here that the Pope does."

Women??

by Palmblogging @ 30.06.2008 - 11:34:01 am

UNDERSTANDING WOMEN (A MAN'S PERSPECTIVE): I know I'm not going to
understand women. I'll never understand how you can take boiling hot wax,
pour it onto your upper thigh, and rip the hair out by the root, and still
be afraid of a spider.

Scottish Labour Party

by Palmblogging @ 30.06.2008 - 11:18:01 am

So Wendy stepped down from the top job for this misunderstanding about
disclosing payments. It was only a one day suspension and a loss of face.
Does she have more to hide that she steeped down? It certainly takes her
out of the spotlight doesn't it.

Treo 680 Stuff

by Palmblogging @ 30.06.2008 - 11:18:01 am

On Saturday we went to Perth and eventually Tegan had had enough so me and
her went back to the car. We sat a wee while and I asked her if she wanted
to play games on the 680. She said no but I knew that in another few
minutes she would get bored. It was then I remembered that I still had The
Simpsons Movie on my sd card. This had been ripped with FairUse Wizard a
while back. She wanted to watch it so that was done with TCPMP. This is an
excellent piece of freeware and although a paid for version is now out you
can still get the freeware version. Its available on http://mytreo.net. So
that kept Tegan going until mum came back to the car and we were ready to
go elsewhere.

Fact of the Day

by Palmblogging @ 30.06.2008 - 11:18:01 am

Appendix

The appendix does not serve any useful purpose as a digestive organ in
humans, and it is believed to be gradually disappearing in the human
species over evolutionary time. (The vermiform appendix exists only in
human beings and higher apes, but an appendix-like structure does exist in
wombats, civets, rodents, and a few other lower animals.)

Fact of the Day

by Palmblogging @ 29.06.2008 - 12:52:01 pm

PMS

Among the 40 percent of human females believed to suffer from PMS, the
types of symptoms and the degree of their severity vary markedly. In about
10 percent of those affected, the syndrome appears in a relatively severe
form. Physical symptoms may include headache, cramps, backache, bloating,
constipation or diarrhea, and a number of related disorders. Emotional
symptoms range from irritability, lethargy, and rapid mood swings to
hostility, confusion, aggression, and severe depression. The most widely
accepted theories center on hormonal changes (the rapid fluctuation of
levels of estrogen and progesterone in the bloodstream), nutritional
deficiencies (particularly in regard to the vitamins--notably B
vitamins--that affect nerve transmission in the brain), and stress (which
has been shown to be a factor in the severity of symptoms). Many
researchers suspect that fluctuations of chemical transmitters in the brain
are largely responsible.

Least said better on that.

Birkis

by Palmblogging @ 28.06.2008 - 03:50:02 pm

The Birkenstocks I got on Ebay for Tegan arrived this morning. We will wait
til later in the week for her to try them. They are going to be a Tooth
Fairy present as on Wednesday she is due teeth out at the dental hospital.
She has a few crunbling ones and they have to come out before there is no
tooth left to get hold of. This you may think is bad in a 6 yrarold but
Tegan was really allergic to milk and most of her first couple of years she
cried and vomited and vomited and cried. The tooth thing is either the
acidity in the vomit as her baby teeth came in or a lower intake of calciun
when she was milk free making the enamel of her teeth weak.
So Wednesday is going to be a tough day for our wee one.

by Palmblogging @ 27.06.2008 - 02:10:01 pm

Not used phone much today as battery has lost a lot of charge quick. It
will limp along until I get home and put it on charge. I did a reset
earlier and discharge rate has slowed so must be a software thing methinks.

Ebay Buy Here

by Palmblogging @ 27.06.2008 - 10:00:01 am

Well the pink laptop bag I bought on Wednesday night and paid for about
10pm arrived this morning. So folk on Ebay are just so quick getting things
to you at times while other seem to take an age. I can see some really good
feedback going on tonight.

Sarahs Law on ITV1

by Palmblogging @ 26.06.2008 - 11:40:02 am

Watched this prgramme last night and even after all these years that scum
and his "no comments" get my goat. I was a parent at the time of this
tragedy and am a parent now and wonder why this hasn't been addressed by
now. Convicted sex offenders deserve to lose some of their human rights for
what they have done so the rights question is a done deal.

Been Ebaying

by Palmblogging @ 26.06.2008 - 11:36:01 am

Had some Ebay "wins" a buy it now on a pink laptop bag for our eldest girl
and a pair of Birkinstock sandals for Tegan, they were less than a tenner
inc pp. So quite chuffed. I will have to have a look myself to see if there
are any Springboard modules for the Visor.
Most of the bidding was done on my 680 and with the sandal ending at just
before 10 this morning it was really easy to keep up to date and bid when
at work.

southern hemispheres of Mars look so different.

When I read the Mars Trilogy this is something that came up often. The
difference between the hemispheres.

Fact of the Day

by Palmblogging @ 26.06.2008 - 10:04:01 am

Mosquitoes

Female mosquitoes bite people in order to get blood so they can lay their
eggs. The female mosquitoes needs amino acids in blood to make protein for
her eggs. Male mosquitoes do not sting people but spend their time drinking
nectar from flowers. Mosquito saliva is injected and the enzyme in it
prompts an immune reaction that brings mast cells to the wound. The mast
cells release histamine, with causes itching and a red rash.

Its only had a trim in the last year but I don't know about what hairstyle

Push For DAB

by Palmblogging @ 24.06.2008 - 11:10:02 am

Radio digital switchover proposed

Plans to move all UK radio stations to digital broadcasts are put forward
in a report by a government working group.

I like DAB but wil have to read this for more detail. It smacks of
desperation as DAB is not developing as it was thought that it would.

Nokia Buy Symbian

by Palmblogging @ 24.06.2008 - 11:10:02 am

Caught this on BBC Technology and Business pages

Nokia in full buy-out of Symbian

Finnish phone giant Nokia is paying £209m to acquire total control of handset software firm Symbian.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/2/hi/business/7470772.stm

Also more on Symbian OS here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symbian_OS

Symbian or EPOC was the rock of stability behind the late but great range of Psion devices. If only someone at Nokia has an ounce of nostalgia and gets then to produce a new "Psion" they can have the world at their feet.

Google Maps for Palm

by Palmblogging @ 24.06.2008 - 10:06:01 am

I have just updated Google maps on my 680 to version 2.0.2. It has the My
Location facility to use mobile phone tower ids to triangulate your
position but this is for the Centro only. There are a few changes to the
interface and operation that seem new so I will give it a try out at some
point. Last year I had cause to use Google Maps quite a bit and it is a
well worth having app on a Treo or Centro.
Remeber it uses your data connection so check your plan to avoid unexpected
costs.

Time Marches On

by Palmblogging @ 24.06.2008 - 09:00:01 am

Well the peak for summer bedding is over and now we look forward to spring

bedding. The sale of this is Octoberish so we will have to start sowing in

the next few weeks. The year just seems to trundle on relentlessly and

before we will know it summer will be gone and a start will have to be made

on Christmas shopping.

Does anyone else feel the years are passing quicker the older you get?

Fact of the Day

by Palmblogging @ 24.06.2008 - 08:38:02 am

Pinky Finger

Pinky fingers do not have muscles in them. They have bones, arteries, and
veins, but no muscles. The muscles that move your pinkies are located in
your hands and forearms

I'm not convinced by this one at all if its true how weird is that.

Gprs Connection Settings in Power Hero

by Palmblogging @ 23.06.2008 - 01:30:01 pm

I have Power Hero on my 680 to eek out every last milli-amp so one of the
saving options is to disconnect from network. You can set it to how long to
stay connected. I had it set to 15 mins but have changed that to never to
see if not disconnecting so often helps when I try to get my GPRS running
for web and email.

Todays Connection with Orange

by Palmblogging @ 23.06.2008 - 11:24:01 am

Well I topped up this morning and got my internet bundle so up to full
posting strength just now. The limitation on this will be actually getting
on to Orange. During the day I think it will be fine but I read somewhere
that the Dolphin access starts at 7.00pm so evenings will be a problem. So
better get all my posting done by then
