If I hear a mention of this again I will smash the telly or radio. So what
if its a leap year.

Happy LeapYear Day
Fancy That
Man saves father and son - 20 years apart
A Chinese man has rescued a seven-year-old boy from a pond - 20 years after
rescuing the boy's father from the same place.
Wang Weiqing, 58, of Beicheng village, Danyang city, is being hailed as a
hero, reports the Yangtse Evening News.
"I was walking along the pool with my own grandson, then spotted a boy
struggling in the water," he said.
When the grandfather of the rescued boy arrived, he was amazed to see the
rescuer was the same man who saved his son, the boy's father, from the same
pool 20 years ago.
"I can hardly believe it, and don't know how to express my gratitude," said
the grandfather, Wang Huajian.
The grandfather later made a silk banner to thank Wang for saving two
generations of his family.
Astraware Suduko
Debs has being playing this a lot recently. When we had ths DS from Kirsty
when Tegan was in bed Debbie would try this as part of the Brain Trainer
fame.
So last night I downloaded the additional level packs 1-5 for easy, medium
and tricky to give her additional games. There are another 5 packs for
these levels and also harder levels. This game allows you to create your
own games as well so we shouldn't run out for a while.
Last night I said to her that since Orange gives 1 meg of data along with
the text top up reward of 300 texts for a tenner top up she should use the
data. Astraware have a game of the day feature and that's what she should
use the 1 meg for and download the daily game.
She's really loving having a converged device. Tegan mentioned about a few
things that are on her T but was told by mum that she will master how the
600 is just now before adding more to it.
Back To Her Palm
After a few weeks with big sisters Nintendo DS Tegan is back using her Tungsten T that she got for her 6th Birthday last year. I had to get her an OS5 hi-res screen device and managed to get a T for around £20.
The T still got used for her relaxing music at bed time but not much else while the DS was around. So now post DS she is back Palming at full strength.. She has been watching video with TCPMP and music with Pocket Tunes. Gamewise the every popular Pyramid Solitaire by Seahorse and LDWs Little Palm Pet. Other times she is still trying Mazera but needs help from brother Ben when he's up for the weekend.
She still hankers after Mario so I will have to look into some of the emulators available.
It annoys Tegan, 6 year old remember, that her friends with a DS go on about the touchscreen when Palms have had them for years.
Yes it testament to the Palm OS and app developers that she has mastered most of the software on her T.

Witchcraft
A petition is being handed in to the Scottish Parliament calling for a
pardon for all those convicted under witchcraft legislation.
It is thought some 4,000 people, mainly women, were prosecuted and often
put to death for witchcraft.
The last Witchcraft Act conviction was in 1944 when Scottish medium Helen
Duncan was imprisoned for allegedly disclosing World War II secrets.
She told a seance a warship had sunk before the news had been released.
The witchcraft petition came from a group of self-styled "mediums" called
Full Moon Investigators.
The group said many of today's occupations such as herbalism, alternative
therapies and midwifery had their roots in the same traditions as the women
burnt to death in previous centuries as "witches".
They want the state to apologise and grant those convicted a pardon.
Markies
M and S use 500 million poly bags a year and are starting to charge for
them. I think I must have seen some of that number stuck in yrees today on
my drive to work.
RBS
So a £10 billion profit with 2 billion written off. This is a crazy amount of profit wonder how much is through charges.
Car Theft Chinese Style
Seen this on Oranges Quirky News page.
Man builds cage for car
A Chinese man has built a cage for his car to stop thieves kidnapping parts and demanding ransom money.
Mr Zhang, of Jilin city, says his car's computerised engine management system was stolen twice.
"Each time I found a note clipped under the wiper, with phone and bank-account numbers," he said.
Each time, Zhang had to wire 500 yuan (£35) to get the part back, reports City Evenings.
He has now built a cage to keep his car safe outside his home.
A police spokesman urged car owners not to pay ransom money to thieves and to contact the authorities instead.

Being a Horticulturalist I am all for this kind of thing. There is stuff
being killed of all over the planet daily. In terms of human health there
maybe cures for all kinds of illnesses being lost at the same time. Plants
just as humans are liable to pests and disease and some of the older plants
might help with this

Conkers
At the back end of last year I got Tegan to plant some of the conkers she
had collected into pots at my work and she has had success with one of them
growing. This wee sucker has been in a tunnel all winter and is now about 3
inches high with real leaves now. She is well chuffed and can't wait til
its bigger to pot up or plant out.
Water Shortages
If there are more in the summer what would you dilute it with to make it go
further?
5 a day, 3 a day ??????
What with fruit and veg as 5 portions a day and now all these adverts say 3
a day for whole grains when will I get the time to eat some REAL food????
WOW
Don't know if I metioned this before but here goes. Kylies song was on the
radio a while back and Grant Stott metioned that how is it that saying Wow
to something just sounds sarcastic nowadays. Anyone else found that?
NEW TREO 600 USER ENJOYING IT.
A few weeks ago I metioned my partner Debbie was going to try my old 600
after the battery on her mobile started playing up. Well a couple of weeks
on and she is well into it. The obvious apps are used daily, phone and
messaging along with a few games. I had deliberately just put minimal
software on it until she masters the basic phone and then will say about
some enhancements. I am pretty sure she won't bother though as she likes
the clean straight forward way the 600 works just now.
She loves the threaded chat style that replied to texts form making it easy
to follow what you had said to someone. The qwerty keypad offers ease of
use and less errors when writing texts. The phone app and contacts work
well and involves less clicks than a normal phone. The call log is also
handy and gives more info than her previous phone.
That's just 2 apps that make her enjoy her Treo let along that she has
Freejongg, Sudoko and Pyramid Solitaire wherever she is.
I will hold back and not interfere with loading more on the 600 or in her
learning expireince. The only thing she can't understand is why Treos are
not that wildly seen in the UK when there is hardly an American show on
telly that there aint a Treo at some point.
MegaMovers
Watching this programme just now on Top up TV download from Saturday night.
Its absolutely amazing that whole buildings are moved in the US. If you
ever have to opportunity to watch this do so and be amazed.
Springboard GPS
Just seen this on Ebay, aSpringboard GPS for Handspring PDAs
A GPS add-on for the handspring visor.
Item number: 270214761522
I had this for my Handsrping Visor Prism, the programs that came with it
were ok, but with HANDMAP ( http://www.handmap.net/ ) software, it almost
as good as a TOMTOM
I used it for walking as it doesn't speak like a tomtom, but with the
handmap program you can get maps from all over the world, it stopped me
being lost in the middle of Australia.
I think the included software is for the UK again it just ok, get handmap
its cheap and great.
Technical Details
a.. 12-channel GPS receiver slides into Visor's Springboard expansion
slot
b.. Compatible with all Handspring Visor handhelds
c.. Provides navigation information and detailed street maps of the
entire United States
d.. Up to 10 hours of battery life--doesn't drain Visor battery power
e.. Includes Map Companion CD-ROM containing Map Companion and Nav
Companion software
Its at a fiver just now might be tempted.
Bear Fight
Who do you think would win in a fight between two of the lamest softest TV

Murray and Centro
No suprises over at Palm-Mac when I read the following.
"It had to happen...Centro on order
Who was I kidding? Like I was never going to get a Centro?....of course
not, I managed to hold out about one day from the day it first appeared as
being in stock online before ordering one. Oh dear.
Oddly, it has been some time since I went through the process of setting up
a new palm o/s device whereas I have done it goodness knows how many times
with Win Mob devices over the past 6 months or so but it is a different
story with palm. The last time I did it was with the 680 in December
2006...yikes. I can barely remember what to do."
.............................................................
Have a look hear for the full story

I will be looking out for Murrays comments on this new Palm. Always
insightfull and says it how it is that's Murray. For more on his vast range
of devices, Palm, Win Mob and iPhone as well as a dose of Mac stuff and
gaming his site is well worth a look.

Lard Sculptures
This was on BBC Scottish news
Students named best fat-carvers
A group of Scottish teenagers have swept the board in a contest to carve
creative sculptures out of lard.
The three students, who are all on catering courses at Adam Smith college
in Kirkcaldy, Fife, were taking part in the 'Works in Fat' competition.
The overall winner, who took the gold prize for her work, was 19-year-old
Leanne Sword from Kirkcaldy.
The competition is part of the annual Hotelympia hospitality and catering
conference being held in London.
Louise Ramsey, 17, took away the joint silver medal for her work while
Gillian McLaren, also 17, was awarded a bronze.
The competition has been known to attract international interest with
students taking part from as far away as the United States.
Coming from Fife this should make me really proud that Fifers have won a
national competition but some how I can't gee myself up to celebrate
craving lard
Ebay
Unlike Murray over at Palm-Mac my latest purchases from the retail machine
that is Ebay has not been techy stuff. No my last few buys have been
Birkenstock sandals. Debbie got a pair last year and had them on a lot in
the summer. She found them the ultimate in comfort so this year that's what
she wants to wear. As some as its cosy enough she plans to wear them until
the frost nips her toesies. So far we have got 3 pairs of brand new ones
for at least half the retail price so she has 4 pair in total. She would
like a pair for each day of the week so she can chop and change to keep
them fresh and so the match with different clothes.
I will have to sneak in a few bids for something for myself whilst all this
Ebaying for shoes is going on.
I still hanker after an Orange SPV C 5XX or 6XX to have a bash at Win
Mobile Smartphone edition. I just know I will get asked why I need an other
phone though even though she needs all these sandal.
That's a good question why is it that its ok for a women to have loads of
shoes but a block doesn't need more than one phone? Murray if you read this
let me know your secret. You could even do a guide over on Palm-Mac.

Joke I Got In A Text
A woman married & had 13 children,her husband died,she married again & had
7 more children, again her husband died. But she remarried & this time had 5
more children & she finally died. Standing at her coffin the preacher
prayed for her & said "lord they r finally together" 1 mourner asked her
friend,do u think he means her 1st,2nd or 3rd husband? The friend
replies,"i think he means her bleedin legs!"
DVLA????
Got this as a text from a friend.
We know exactly where every untaxed car is located among the millions of
car owners in the UK, but we haven't got a clue where thousands of illegal
Immigrants & terrorists are located!! Maybe Gordon Brown should put the
DVLA in charge of Immigration!

Horror of Horrors This Morning
I got downstairs this morning and was shocked to find that I forgot to put
my Treo680 on charge last night. I was able to put it on and gave it just
over half an hour taking it to about 60%. It is now mid afternoon and I'm
down to 36% so I had been taking it easy today. This should be plenty to
get home with but will need charged tonight after teatime.
Today as a precaution I had even brought my charger to work but not needed
it yet.
Treo Stuff
Still not upgraded the 680 but Debs well into the way of using the 600. She
has moved to Orange to take advantage of the text topup thing and since we
are both on Orange I will have to check out the Magic Number thing to see
if it covers calls during the day and not just evenings.
I will really have to set time for the 680 update and get it done but so
far my current version of firmware isn't causing me any grief so I am
hesitant to introduce potential problems.
Kids Have It Easy Now Rant From PJ Arts at PA
This is PJ Arts rant from Palm Addicts. He's an American and he's giving this from an American point of view but a lot hold true here.
TO EVERYONE UNDER 30 YEARS OF AGE:
When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up.
You know:
"...we had to walk twenty-five miles to school every morning...uphill BOTH ways...yadda, yadda, yadda!"
I clearly remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crud like that on kids: about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it! But now that I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You little posers! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a Utopia!
Cards_2 I hate to say it but you kids today don't know how good you've got it! I mean, when
