Long Time No Post

by Palmblogging @ 30.04.2007 - 03:00:01 pm

I will really have to set myself a rule that I post at least once a day. It
seems ages sinnce I had a worthwhile Palm commment or expireience to post.
Yes the Palms are still getting used but I just don't have the motovation
to tell about it.

Is this usual for bloggers to have this kind of lapse now and again or am I
just lazy?

Mini Keyboard

by Palmblogging @ 25.04.2007 - 11:56:02 am

Trying this out on my Zire71 to see if text input is easier for nighttime
post writing. Will try it out over a few nights and see how it goes. The
buttons for the characters are larger than the inbuilt keyboard so
hopefully when I touch a I get an a.

Man cut off penis

by Palmblogging @ 24.04.2007 - 03:00:02 pm

Just seen this on Orange mobile home page OUCH !!!!

Man cut off penis in restaurant
A man cut off his penis with a knife in a packed restaurant in central
London.
Police had to use CS gas to restrain the man in the Zizzi pizza restaurant
in The Strand, reports the BBC.
He was taken to hospital in south London where surgeons were reportedly
unable to reattach his penis.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said he was aged between 30 and 40 and
confirmed his injuries were self-inflicted.
A spokeswoman for Zizzi said the man was not thought to have any connection
with the restaurant.
She said: "At around 9pm on Sunday, a man walked into the Zizzi restaurant
on The Strand, down the stairs to the basement restaurant area and tried to
enter a kitchen.
"Members of staff stopped him, at which he ran into a second kitchen area.
"The man then picked up a kitchen knife and slashed himself across the
wrist and groin areas before running back into the restaurant, where he
continued to stab himself.
"This happened in a matter of seconds and was obviously extremely
frightening and distressing for the many customers and staff in the
restaurant at the time."
She added: "Apart from the man, we understand that no-one else suffered any
physical injuries."

You would have thought that cutting his bit of you wouldn't need the CS to
diable him.

I'm Back

by Palmblogging @ 21.04.2007 - 02:08:01 pm

Well not posted for a while. Had some leave from work over Easter and never
really bothered about posting then. Was back at work last week but with
thinhs going on I never did much last week. So here we go hopefully over
this weekend I will try to catch up with the households Palm usage.
Hope any readers are keeping well. I have kind of kept up with Palm and
Linux developements over at Palm Addicts and Palm-Mac. Murray's site is
still a good read with his rants and changing device lineup. I have had a
wee look at Ebay at Orange SPV C500 or 550s to price them but that will
have to wait for auction luck.

Why I like Treo

by Palmblogging @ 11.04.2007 - 06:06:01 pm

I'm off work this week but not really resting as there is plenty to do.
Just sitting having a coffee outside. I have painted the bathroom cieling
and put up block edging for gravel we are getting for the front garden. So
whilst having a coffee I have just had a look at Digital Spy and Palm
Addicts. That why I love my Treo its a small enough device to just sit here
and do a bit of browsing and check email without having to go to the bother
of booting up a PC inside. I know that a wireless connection for internet
with the laptop would be a more fullfilling thing but Treo sits in the palm
of my hand

My Other Halfs Addicted

by Palmblogging @ 10.04.2007 - 08:20:01 am

So Debbie got her M130 on Mothers Day here in the UK. She has used it a lot
but until last night I and she didn't realise how much. Her favourite game
is Pyramid Solitaire, its freeware by Seahorse. This game she is addicted
to and last night looking at the stats we got our shock. She has played,
since Mothers Day 1313 games or hands and at one point completely cleared 8
pyramids on the easy setting. I and she were flabbergasted. This game is
good though simple to follow and very addictive. Try www.seahorsesoft.com
for this and other card games.

Things seem normal

by Palmblogging @ 09.04.2007 - 11:26:01 pm

Well after not many posts over the weekend it seems that Mail2Blog is back
on track. I really dont think I would have continued with Palmblogging if I
had lost the convience of just emailing in posts.
Thats what the Treo is good for. It is so handy just to use the thumboard
to jot down thoughts and post using email on a connected device. On this
blog I have only used a PC once or twice directly on it. Once was to sort
the timezone and the other was to look at the designs available. I think it
is praise indeed for my Treo600 and Zire71 and blog.co.uk that it is so
easy to do this.
I think one thing I will have to do with a PC is to get around the other
blogs here and get known a I tend to just post away here with very little
interaction with others. Well have to get some sleep and post this in the
morning

Inspiration

by Palmblogging @ 09.04.2007 - 05:42:01 pm

I am really lacking some inspiration lately for subject matter for this
blog. You will notice the new at mytreo.net or freewarepalm posts now and
again that help fill days that may end up empty. I have not been working on
posts at bed time to send later either. The main thing going on just now is
my other halfs affair with her M130. We went shopping today and it just
happened to go in her handbag just incase. I get a bit envious of her and
that way you get with a new device. It makes me want to get on Ebay and get
a Windows Mobile Pocket PC type thing just to go through the whole learning
thing.
I think doing this would also give some comparison between platforms and
new material for posting. I really should do more on the Zire and post my
thoughts on the Apps I have on it. Well I'll post this just now and see
what springs to mind later.
By the way what is new at Mytreo.net anyway

Screen Protectors

by Palmblogging @ 09.04.2007 - 05:36:02 pm

I read Murray's post on Palm-Mac about putting screen protectors on and had
a laugh to myself. When I got mine from Proporta my partner Debbie put it
on. She's into craft and carding and told me she would do a better job. She
was probably right and did an excellent job of it. The other thing is that
the funny bit I have on my screen is likely a small crack but I think it is
the screen protector that is stopping it from getting really bad.
I had never had a protector on any device before but now I think it would
be the first thing I'd get.

Sent a few posts yesterday and they seem to have not got here yet. No idea
where they have gone. Any ideas? Has anyone got an email address for
support for the UK blogs please.

Old Palm Gets New Life

by Palmblogging @ 04.04.2007 - 05:56:01 pm

I bought an old M130 on Ebay for my other half from our daughter for
Mothers Day. Its a colour screen, only 160x160 res screen, 33Mhz processor
and OS 4.1. Now I have a Treo 600 and a Zire 71, the boys have Tungsten E
and E2 so you may think I have short changed her with the M130. Well since
she got it it has been used everyday, the contacts are building up, the
datebook is becoming the repository for appointments and her school
volunteering periods.
There are some of her favourite games she has played on my Zire. Text
Twist, Palmjongg, Craisy Daisy and Bejewelled. The game that has been
getting played the most though is Pyramid Solitaire by Seahorse. This is a
freeware game and she loses hours with it. For someone who is not really
into gadgets the M130 is never far away. So this old Palm has a new lease
of life even though it has been surpassed by newer better specced models.

Docs to Go

by Palmblogging @ 03.04.2007 - 03:08:01 pm

At work we produce bedding plants to supplement our funding. While working
with them we sometimes want to check numbers sown or varieties. This I
sometimes do on my Treo. I emailed the spreadsheet we use to record sowing
dates and other info to my Treo. The excel speadsheet can open with version
6. Something of Documents to Go. It is far faster using the Treo than going
into the office and opening the sheet in Excel and gives us what we need.

Xiino

by Palmblogging @ 02.04.2007 - 02:06:01 pm

Giving Xiino a bit of a work out as an alternative to the built in browser
on my Treo 600. I have it on my Zire 71 if I happen to use it with Wireless
Modem and the IR connection. I beamed it using Power Run and it went across
as registered so just see how that goes. I know it will take a while to get
use to and get my usual sites bookmark so will post something on this later.

here. They just don't make sense

AFC close on Rangers

by Palmblogging @ 01.04.2007 - 08:30:01 am

Well a 2-1 win for Aberdeen and Rangers draw narrows that gap for the
Champions League spot here in Scotland. We seem to have snatched that
result against the run of play though but that still counts. Hopefully we
can keep this up to the end and be with the big boys midweek next year.
