Monthly Post Count

by Palmblogging @ 30.12.2007 - 04:22:01 pm

Either I have had loads of interesting stuff to share this month or I've
blethered so pish but I have posted 100 times this month.

Zire 31 Stuff

by Palmblogging @ 30.12.2007 - 04:22:01 pm

Went on Ebay yesterday and ordered up a charger for the 31 that I got
earlier. I also left some negative feedback for the 31 seller. I also
popped on Amazon and got a couple of 1 gig cards as well. So hopefully get
these after New Year and load them up with stuff for the bairns. I really
need the charger before next Friday but the cards are on there way.

iPod Shuffle

by Palmblogging @ 30.12.2007 - 11:06:01 am

Got some tunes on this for our oldest boy and he loves it. I found a whole
lot of rock stuff we had done a couple of years ago hidding and stuck it on
the shuffle. He was well chuffed as it was things he hadn't heard for a
while. The sound out of the Shuffle is really amazing and for such an ickle
thing its well loud.
I know I have a 680 and with Pocket Tunes I can have music whereever but I
really fancy a Shuffle. Well I could have with Chrissy pennies but I chose
the DTR/PVR thing, again more on that later.
By the way me and Tegan are sitting in the car at Matalan in Perth we've
went to the sales with Debs abd Teg's oldest sister.

Phil O'Donnell

by Palmblogging @ 30.12.2007 - 09:52:01 am

Some how I missed this yesterday but was shocked to read it in the papers
this morning. Phil died yesterday after a brain seizure during the
Motherwell Hibs game. Thoughts for his wife and four kids whom are left
without him.
If any wants to comment I will forward them to Motherwell FC later.

God Rest and wishes to his family.

Its Palmblogging Birthday

by Palmblogging @ 29.12.2007 - 03:28:01 pm

Well today a year ago I really started my posting here on Palmblogging. I
hope those that read my blog find it entertaining and at times informative.
I never did get around to posting again yesterday between helping tidy up
and playing with my new digibox, more on that later. I have had times that
I just didn't bother posting much as I had no inspiration or what I was
going to post was covered in more detail on other sites. I really tried to
be a Palm orientated blog but I have posted a lot of general stuff. Thanks
to all for the encouragement I have received in the past.

Whew Post Christmas

by Palmblogging @ 28.12.2007 - 03:22:01 pm

We are in the middle of a post Christmas cleanup in the house so not much
time to post. Just snuck into the loo with my 680 for this. Got a PVR today
and set it up but not fully got it in action yet. Its working as just a
digibox for Tegan and CBeebies just now while we clean. Better wipe up and
get the hoover going.

2 Baby Borns

by Palmblogging @ 27.12.2007 - 07:14:01 pm

Now this Baby Born Boy looks just th same as the girl one I thought and I
asked Tegan how she tells them apart. Thinking I qould get a winky answer I
was taken aback when Tegan pointed out that the boy has brown eyes and the
girls are blue. Tegan 1 Dad 0 I think.

Boy Baby Born has a Winky Shocker

by Palmblogging @ 27.12.2007 - 06:52:02 pm

Tegan got a boy baby born for Christmas and today she had him undressed.
Now Tegans only 6 so imagine her giggling when she discovered Boy Baby Born
has a winky.
At teatime she asked if all baby boys have little winkies and do they get
bigger as they grow up. Mum left the room letting me come up with a
suitable answers to that. Boy how I struggled.

Almost Year

by Palmblogging @ 27.12.2007 - 01:56:01 pm

I first setup this blog on the 20/12/06 but never really got going with
posts until the 29th so that will be Palmbloggings official birthday. It
was when I discovered mail2blog that my Treo 600 came into its own. I could
post and add photos. I used Wireless Modem on my 600 and this allowed me to
write on my Zire 71 at night when not sleeping and post in the morning. Now
I just use my 680 and post what comes along when it comes along.
Nulty let me know that I have pop up on the top blogs list which is great.
At times I have not posted much but this last quarter I have went good guns.

Thanks to all who pop in and read this blog. It started as a Treo only
expirement and I hardly ever go on line hear with a PC it still is a Treo
based blog. I am amazed that I have lasted this long but the encouragement
I get from comments and looking at my stats spur me on.

THANKS FOLKS

Christmas Money

by Palmblogging @ 27.12.2007 - 11:00:02 am

Got a some money as Christmas to treat myself so what will I get with that.
Well our livingroom digi box needs an upgrade in my opinion and I am
considering a hard drive recorder type. I think this will be handy as
sometimes programmes clash and The Sky at Night is either late on BBC1 or
Tegans bedtime when on BBC4 and I've not seen it in a while. It would be
good if there is a way to get stuff of the hard drive on to a computer
aswell and maybe get it on my 680. So that's what I'll do later a bit of
online bargain hunting for a PVR Freeviw digibox.

DAB Radio

by Palmblogging @ 27.12.2007 - 10:48:01 am

Got my dad a DAB radio for a combined Christmas and Birthday present. I
know DAB, that digital radio, has had its detracters but I have had one for
about 3 years and love it. Its so easy to change channel and that's by name
not frequency numbers.
I think he should manage as it quite basic but my dads a bit of a
technophobe. I will have look down later and see how he's getting on.

iTunes

by Palmblogging @ 26.12.2007 - 03:20:02 pm

Went down to friends earlier and downloaded iTunes7.5 on their broadband.
It took a couple of minutes compared to the dialup forecast. I used my old
Treo600 and Card Export to put it on a SD card but also copied it to cd.
This has been sucessfully installed and as I write this there is music
going on the middle boys iPod Classic. Tonihjt we will charge the Shuffle
and tunes will go on it later or tomorrow.

Bloody Apple

by Palmblogging @ 26.12.2007 - 09:42:01 am

Due to a slight lack of foresight on my behalf both iPods that the boys got
still have to see action. The reason for this is a lack of a cd with iTunes
packaged with the Pods. I checked out downloading but its 50meg and since
we still haven't commited our souls to the saviour that is broadband a
dialup download would take approximately 3 years 59 days and 16 minutes. So
later I'm poping down to a friend to do it on their PC. Hopefully we will
be syncing tunes later this morning or early afternoon.

Boxing Day

by Palmblogging @ 26.12.2007 - 09:36:01 am

Well its the day after Christmas and what do we have a load of paper to
take to the recycling banks as our paper uplift should be next wednesday
but that's a holiday. The cooncil should have gave us another day for it
but nothing as yet so that makes our next paper uplift the 16th of January
and that's ages away. At least I can check the wrapping for any Christmas
money the kids got and laid a side. We have a hunt the misplaced envelope
event at some point every year.
Today is good as we also get friends visiting after all the family visits
yesterday so it gets a bit like Christmas Day all over again. I love it.

Christmas

by Palmblogging @ 25.12.2007 - 02:46:01 pm

Its well into Christmas Day now and just finished watching The Simpsons
Movie and thought it was great. I will have to use FairUse Wizard and put
it on the 680.
Tegan is really happy with what Santa left and her gifts from others.
I will have to get iTunes downloaded later for the boys iPods, a Classic
and a Shuffle.

The dinner stuff is on and we will overeat later on.
Hope the day is going well for all readers out there but don't spend all
your time on the web today is a day for being socialable not on here. Me
I've just posted this from my 680 whilst in the loo and that should be me
for the day.

Christmas Day

Merry Christmas to all and have a nice day.

Sony Touchscreen Device

by Palmblogging @ 24.12.2007 - 08:06:01 pm

Seen this on www.digitalspy.co.uk

Sony unveils new touch-screen games device
by David Gibbon, Gaming Reporter
Following the success of Apple's iPhone, Sony has unveiled a comparable
device that takes the technology to the next level.

The Japanese electronics firm showed off a prototype of its new LCD device,
which features optical sensors embedded into its 640x480-pixel screen.

While the iPhone can handle two finger presses at a time on its touch
screen, Sony claims its device can handle five.

Although little has yet been revealed about the new device, including when
it will become commercially available, given Sony's gaming track record and
Nintendo's success with its touch-screen DS, this new system is expected to
be utilised to host some very appealing games.

Uk Chart Sales

by Palmblogging @ 24.12.2007 - 07:50:01 pm

So Leon is numero uno with sales of 275,000.Katie Melua at 2 sold 60,000.
Its said that Leon sold more than the entire other top 10 combined. That
means #3 to #10 sold 215,000 between them.
Back in my day Leon could have struggled to Top 20 with that.

OH how times have changed

Crap Christmas Song

by Palmblogging @ 24.12.2007 - 03:28:02 pm

Listening to Radio Tay and just heard Busted sing Hark the Herald Angels
Sing. It was crap beyond belief. What a waste of oil when they made the cds
for that.

Sites on Holiday

by Palmblogging @ 23.12.2007 - 10:00:01 am

Had a look at Palm-Mac and PDA247 earlier and both have post saying there
are on hols til later in the festive season. Both Murray and Shaun are Scot
so I wonder if this is to stop any drink inspired posts. I think it may
just be a case of priorities though.
It will be a busy spell over the next few days especially if you have
kids. Debs has noted down a plan of attack for food prep. So I may not get
time to post much over the next few days but might escape to the loo with
the 680 and try to mail in some thoughts.

iSprout Problem Already

by Palmblogging @ 23.12.2007 - 10:00:01 am

My last post was about rebranding to increase popularity of the sprout but
I have hit a snag. A quick google showed over 200 items. Some of these
related to an educational product so there might be trademark issues. Who
would have thought googling iSprout would have brought up other stuff. Try
it your self and see.

i Stuff : Use an I and it Sells

by Palmblogging @ 22.12.2007 - 11:06:01 pm

Just seen the iTrim thing for stuble and it seems that a lot of things get
that i to help sell and been popular and desireable.
So veg producers have to bring out the iSprout to increase this unloved
brassica popularity

Palmathon

by Palmblogging @ 22.12.2007 - 03:04:02 pm

My two are up this weekend and had a bit of a Palmathon this morning. My
elder daughter was on Insaniquarium and Text Twist both available at
www.astraware.com. My lad was on an old Tiger Woods Golf thing that I had
on the Visor Deluxe.
Both spent a while playing, it will bw great when they have their own.

Lego

by Palmblogging @ 22.12.2007 - 03:04:02 pm

This stuffs been around for years and its the one thing other than TV or
Palms that keeps Tegan going for hours. Its a joy to build with her. Its
mainly houses we build for the different Lego people to stay with. Its
funny when the car driver and footballer have a house with no loo and one
bed. But there is the innocence and nonjudgementalness of a 6 year old.
If only we didn't lose that as we grew up.

Shopping Went Well

by Palmblogging @ 22.12.2007 - 12:40:01 pm

Yesterday our Asda delivery went well with no hitches. Debs got Lidl and we
got Aldi and Tesco in the afternoon. We are the smug b&@#$*ds that are at
home now not needing to go near a supermarket til into the New Year.

UEFA Final 16 Draw

by Palmblogging @ 21.12.2007 - 05:22:01 pm

Aberdeen, in the knockout stages of a European competition for the first
time since 1986, will come up against 1996 winners Bayern Munich.

Rangers, who were eliminated from the Champions League, play Panathinaikos
for a place in the last 16.

Aberdeen and Rangers both play their first legs at home.

The Dons had epic games against Bayern in the year they won the Cup
Winners Cup. What's the chance of a repeat?

More Fitba

by Palmblogging @ 21.12.2007 - 10:02:01 am

BBC Sport ran this describing last nights fantastic victory by the Dons

Aberdeen's Jimmy Calderwood described the 4-0 victory over Copenhagen as
the best night of his football career.

"It really was a great performance from the lads," he said of the Uefa Cup
win. "We know they are capable of it, which is why we get so angry on
Saturdays.

"But it was a wonderful night. It's wonderful, something to look forward
to, but all credit to the lads.

"It doesn't matter who you get now, it gives you something to look forward
to in February."

Finishing third in Group B means Aberdeen will be drawn on Friday against
either Everton, Villarreal, Hamburg, Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich,
Getafe and Bordeaux.

The Dons' victory was built on two early second-half goals from Jamie
Smith.

But the winger, who had returned to the side following injury, modestly
paid tribute to his colleagues.

"A lot of credit must go to my team-mates," he said.

"Defensively, we were brilliant. I got two goals, but most of the credit
must go to them.

"We created a few chances in the first half and we were a bit disappointed
at half-time.

"But I don't think they created too many chances in the 90 minutes.

"It's a massive achievement for the club. It's great for the city and the
fans. It's just great to be part of."

Goalkeeper Jamie Langfield echoed Smith's sentiments, saying: "It is
absolutely brilliant. We were always in the game.

"All credit to the boys, I thought defensively we had to take a lot of
credit.

"Hopefully we can take it on in the next leg."
